The Evening GC of West Roxbury, "America's Romance with the English Garden" presented by Thomas Mickey
Spurred by advances in printing and mail distribution, seed and nursery catalogs began flooding the U.S. market in the 1890s. Essays, illustrations and ads encouraged the romantic style of English gardening, which continues to influence us today. In addition to revisiting the genesis of English-style gardens in America, author Thomas Mickey will also be sharing beautiful photos and fun stories about our connections to gardens "across the pond."
